›Introduction

With outstanding single-target and area of effect damage, the Javazon is the character with the highest damage output in the game. After getting a Mercenary with Infinity, her ability to farm becomes some of the best as well, with no area where she cannot farm efficiently. She does, however, have the drawback of being a bit of a glass cannon and requiring good positioning knowledge to play well. Her mobility is limited, too, as is generally the case for Amazons.

›Javazon Skill Build
  • 1 point to all prerequisites

  • 20 points to Lightning Fury — main area of effect damage skill; max out as soon as possible

  • 20 points to Charged Strike — main single-target damage skill, invest points early; max out after Lightning Fury

  • 20 points to Lightning Bolt — max out after Lightning Fury and Charged Strike

  • 20 points to Lightning Strike — max out after Lightning Fury and Charged Strike

  • 1 point to Pierce — invest points early to reach approximately 63% chance to pierce with projectiles after taking skill bonuses from items into account

  • 1+ points to Valkyrie — if you want a tanky minion to protect you, the first few points improve Valkyrie significantly. Aim for a total skill of at least 17 (or more) to maximise the gear of the Valkyrie and provide her with potential elemental damage Immunities

›Javazon Build Discussion

The Javazon playstyle revolves around using her main attack, Lightning Fury, to clear screens of monsters quickly in a few throws thanks to its interaction with Pierce. For any left over monsters or tankier monsters like bosses, Charged Strike is used to deal high single-target damage.

Javazons are extremely Mana intensive. Until you get to your endgame gear, your Mana sustain will be very low and you will be going through Mana Potions rapidly. Meditation and/or high Physical damage with enough Mana Leech will help your Mana sustain tremendously. Since Javazons are dependent upon Increased Attack Speed, Cannot Be Frozen is a must-have attribute to further help with Mana sustain through Leech.

Since the Javazon is a glass cannon, she might feel frustrating to play with sub-optimal gear and levels. But once you reach a comfortable level (somewhere around 75) and proper gear ( Titan's Revenge being the main one), the damage output of the Javazon begins to increase dramatically, and offense becomes her defense. Up until that point, your damage output is still decent, but you have to pay attention to your positioning and generally kite so as to avoid dying.

The defensiveness of the typical Javazon is lacking because most of the optimal offensive gear choices leave her without a solid way of mitigating damage. She rarely ends up with maxed Resistances, maximising Chance to Block is unrealistic to aim for without Stormshield (which then removes a lot of damage and Resistances), and she does not gain a lot of Life per point of Vitality.

›Javazon Stats Discussion

The following section discusses how many attribute points should be allocated to each of the primary stats.

How much Strength Does a Javazon Need?

Enough for gear. For a Javazon using a Spirit Monarch, this will be 156 Strength as that is usually the highest Strength requirement for commonly used gear. If choosing to use another shield with lower Strength requirements, then just adjust your Strength to that value. This number always changes based on the gear you are using, though, so make sure to always double check the requirements for each piece of gear you have as well as how much Strength each piece will provide once equipped.

How much Dexterity Does a Javazon Need?

Enough for gear, which should be around 150. Dexterity is also great for increasing your Block Chance, but if you are not planning on maxing it out completely, Dexterity is not worth investing into over Vitality; its return for Attack Rating and Defense are insignificant at best.

How much Vitality Does a Javazon Need?

Everything else into Vitality; 250+ points. Every excess attribute point should be allocated to Vitality, as long as you can meet the Strength and Dexterity requirements of your items by the time you wish to equip them. Not only does this increase your Life total, but this also increases the chance for Healing Potions to crit, doubling their healing output. Further, additional Life reduces the chance that you will be put into hit recovery.

How much Energy Does a Javazon Need?

Nothing. Allocating attribute points to Energy in a final build is universally considered sub-par for almost every character due to the widespread availability of Mana Potions. While leveling, if you find yourself struggling with Mana you can allocate a few points to Energy that you can then remove with a respec later on.

›Javazon Mercenary

You can either choose a Defensive ( Holy Freeze) or an Offensive ( Might) Act 2 Nightmare Mercenary, depending on whether you want more slow and safety or want your Mercenary to deal more damage to help take care of Lightning Immune monsters.
